There are thousands of books about leadership and less than a dozen about courage. None, however, tells the reader how to be courageous. Finally, there is a book about how to cultivate courage.
Ready, BEGIN! contains over 250 practical strategies, techniques, and insights how to cultivate courage including overcoming fear, conquering procrastination, getting into action, sustaining momentum, and burning with more focus and purpose. This book is for leaders who want to create bolder visions, generate more sales, encourage daring innovation, implement new changes, and strengthen teams?
A soldier patrols a dangerous sector known for booby-traps and insurgent activity. A fireman races into a burning high-rise. A policeman runs into a dark alley in pursuit of a gun-toting suspect. We all recognize courage when we see it.

There are icons of courage that bring shivers to our souls: images like the flag-raising at Mount Suribachi on Iwo Jima or Ground Zero at the World Trade Center or places evoking reverence like the Alamo. And who exemplifies courage? Individuals like Abraham Lincoln, Margaret Thatcher, Nelson Mandela, John Glenn, Oskar Schindler, and countless others.

Most of us, however, are not involved in such life-or-death struggles. Our battles occur at work and home. This book is designed to give ordinary people some practical tools to cultivate more courage in their lives. Strong courageous leadership is needed everywhere. This comprehensive manual will give the reader the tools to become an even more valuable leader.

This book first introduced readers to the Churchill Factors in 2000. This book was written from the DISC point of view—the four styles associated with behavioral preferences. Each of the four sections is tailored to people who exhibit the four different styles. Each section was written from the viewpoint and in the language most appropriate for that style. In addition, the questions at the end of the chapters have been directed toward persons of that particular style. In our world, we must interact with all kinds of people, people of every behavioral style. If we are to learn how to understand, value, and appreciate others, we must know more about the people who are different from us. This book will help us understand ourselves better. It will also help us understand our coworkers, bosses, and employee, as well as family and friends better.

NOVELS BY NAOMI KRYSKE

Jennifer Jeffries, a young Texan traveling in London, is kidnapped, becoming the victim of a violent assault. When she survives, the British detective in charge of her case needs her to testify against the serial killer who attacked her. Led by a tough ex-Special Forces sergeant with a warrior’s mindset, her witness protection team tries to support her as she prepares to appear in one of London’s Crown Courts. This British detective suspense novel moves from a realistic depiction of the female protagonist’s PTSD to fast-paced courtroom scenes to the difficulties that traumatized individuals face as they struggle to regain personal power.

The Witness breaks new ground by showing the enduring effects trauma can have on a life. The first of a trilogy, this work of crime suspense fiction contains the same psychological intensity as Anna Quindlen’s Black and Blue, but while Ms. Quindlen’s protagonist endures, Ms. Kryske’s triumphs. Strong, complex male characters make this novel an entertaining, inspiring, and compelling read.

On September 11, 2001, Jennifer Sinclair, a young Texan living in London, saw her homeland attacked: the World Trade centers, the Pentagon, and a plane that crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. It was difficult to be an American in a foreign country, even an ally of America’s, following these terrorist events. Now married to Colin Sinclair, a senior British detective, she never expected the climate of terrorism from the United States to sweep across the Atlantic and bring an undercurrent of fear to the United Kingdom. Early in 2002 a terrorist attack occurs in London. Then a new danger appears on the quaint streets of Hampstead, her northwest London home.

This New Scotland Yard crime suspense novel is peopled with unforgettable, complex characters. Jenny, the female protagonist, must learn how to overcome psychological trauma. Will Sergeant Casey, one of the strong male characters, be able to use his Special Forces warrior’s mindset to help her deal with her potential danger? Can an ex-Royal Army chaplain provide comfort and hope in the face of grief and loss? Find the answers in this intense, moving, and compelling sequel to The Witness.
